چکیده

Background Myocardial strain was regarded as a sensitive parameter to quantify left ventricular function. Feature tracking CMR is emerging as a new simple and reliable technique to evaluate myocardial strain. In the present study, we were sought to investigate the distribution characteristics of left myocardial strain on the transmural direction or longitudinal direction in healthy Chinese subjects.

Distribution pattern of left-ventricular myocardial strain analyzed by a cine MRI based deformation registration algorithm in healthy Chinese volunteers

The cine magnetic resonance imaging based technique feature tracking-cardiac magnetic resonance (FT-CMR) is emerging as a novel, simple and robust method to evaluate myocardial strain. We investigated the distribution characteristics of left-ventricular myocardial strain using a novel cine MRI based deformation registration algorithm (DRA) in a cohort of healthy Chinese subjects. A total of 130...

Cardiac magnetic resonance myocardial feature tracking: feasibility for use in left ventricular non-compaction

Background Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) myocardial feature tracking (FT) is emerging as a sensitive and reproducible method for measuring myocardial strain parameters without the need to acquire additional images. Up until now adult CMRFT studies have primarily focussed on the reproducibility of the software, with very few studies addressing disease states beyond ischaemic cardiomyopathy. Th...

Age- and gender-related normal left ventricular deformation assessed by cardiovascular magnetic resonance feature tracking

BACKGROUND Assessment of left (LV) ventricular function is one of the most important tasks of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR). Impairment of LV deformation is a strong predictor of cardiovascular outcome in various cardiac diseases like ischemic heart disease or cardiomyopathies. The aim of the study was to provide reference values for myocardial deformation derived from the CMR feature...

Cardiovascular magnetic resonance myocardial feature tracking using a non-rigid, elastic image registration algorithm: assessment of variability in a real-life clinical setting

BACKGROUND Cardiovascular magnetic resonance myocardial feature tracking (CMR-FT) is a promising technique for quantification of myocardial strain from steady-state free precession (SSFP) cine images. We sought to determine the variability of CMR-FT using a non-rigid elastic registration algorithm recently available in a commercial software package (Segment, Medviso) in a real-life clinical set...

Cardiac magnetic resonance feature tracking: a novel method of assessing myocardial strain. Comparison with echocardiographic speckle tracking in healthy volunteers and in patients with left ventricular hypertrophy

Background: Left ventricular longitudinal strain (LV-LS) and strain rate (SR) are sensitive markers of early systolic dysfunction. Aim: To evaluate the feasibility of a novel, cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) based method known as feature tracking (FT) for the assessment of strain and SR, and to compare the CMR based results to those obtained on standard transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) in ...
